Exception to Certification
for Ultrasound Fellows
POCUS Fellows with significant POCUS experience outside of the CPoCUS IP certification program can apply for an Exception to Certification
Fellows do not need to complete an introductory course and
do not need to acquire logged scans
Fellows must pass the three certification examinations
prior to applying for an Exception to Certification
Fellows can complete the Written exam and Visual exam online by video or in person with a certified instructor
Fellows must complete the Practical exam in person with a certified instructor and ultrasound model

Once certified, teach at ultrasound courses and share POCUS skills
Earn CME credits at the same time!
